Don't Shy Away Be BOLD

Image
Let’s talk about being bold. Acts 28:31 proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness and without hindrance. There are two songs that come to mind on this topic, Bold by Ledger and Shy Away by Twenty One Pilots . Let’s look at each of their choruses. Bold I'm gonna be bold Gotta hold my head up Cause I know when I get up There's a victory I already hold I'm gonna be strong Gotta get my fight on Cause I know whose side I'm on Got a heart like steel, a faith like gold I'm gonna be bold Shy Away Don't you shy away Manifest a ceiling When you shy away Searchin' for that feelin' Just like an "I love you" That isn't words Like a song he wrote, T hat's never heard At first you probably didn’t think these songs were similar at all. They are presented in different ways but have a very similar message; A call to be Bold. One ...

Rot - Lyric Ananlysis

Not to long ago I wrote a devotion that centered around part of the song Rot by Lacey Sturm . Now seems like a good time to take a deeper look into the whole song. Rot was written by Tom Gascon, Ben Hull, Saria Dorsey, Josh Sturm, and Lacey Sturm. It was produced by Evan Rodaniche. This is also a call to rise from the grave and to then be back in the world with a new perspective and fully motivated to make a difference. Fresh fire seems odd at first but when you take a second to see that it is signaling a statement that I have been reignited it ...

So Deep A Love

This week’s video was on the song So Far Away by Red and overall, it was a solid song about feeling distant from God. Even just the song title can remind you of Psalm 103:11-12 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,     so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west,     so far does he remove our transgressions from us. This passage shows us how far our sins have been removed from us. The song talked about returning to sin and sinning again, and that is a real problem for many of us. This illustration shows us a deeper understanding thought. Even if we return to our wicked ways and go back to the sins that we struggle with personally, it is a new sin. If you repent you are forgiven, and that sin is removed from you. If you go back to the same habits, you are still sinning, however sometimes we are told that returning to a sin makes it stack on itself or multiply its sinfulness. That ...
