I am willing to guess that you are not very familiar with this Christmas song. It lives on the darker side. It is called Snowglobe. This starts out very pleasant. Depicting life inside a snowglobe; a perfect life straight from a Christmas card. This is what we want Christmas to be. This perfect little season of joy and gift giving. We look forward to it all year. But once it is here we can’t wait for it to be over. All the parties and the checklists and the joyless days There's a reason it's all so exhausting Where's the meaning? Where's the wonder? Where's the dreaming? All this busyness bleeding the season dry Is this not exactly what Satan does? Turn the things we want to be joyful about into these dark, exhausting, meaningless parts of our lives. This season that we claim is all about giving we have turned into getting the best things for ourselves. Or into making sure we are the one person to give the best gift. Sometimes we forget how real the spiritual world is. We fail to realize how hard it is to live with temptation because we view ourselves as successful and in control. We believe we are responsible for our accomplishments and disregard God’s handiwork in even the minuscule. We ignore how much we are attacked in a verity of ways by Satan and his demons. This is one way to remind ourselves that even when times are good it has very little to do with us. Last week’s video was on Therefore,I Am and it had some interesting themes. Overall it was selfish song. I want to contrast that with a song all about the true unselfish I AM , a song with that title recorded by Theocracy. I AM is a long song, around eleven minutes, and is really a series of I am statements, those found directly in scripture and some more modernized but biblically grounded. Because of that I am not getting so deep in the logic of how every line connects. The logic is in the progression of the lines. We see the bulk of the song really divining who He is and then you get to lines all based on the crucifixion. After that, we see a section all about how He connects with us and finally a celebration of what has been done. I have done what I can do add relevant bible verses, be aware that there are other verses that could be used for most of these.
