Think Before You Sing

We live in a beautiful world and sometimes we forget that. We look outside and feel like it is nothing we haven’t seen before. We are constantly told how bad everything is and how it all needs to be changed. The grass isn’t green enough and the sky isn’t blue enough. Do you really believe God is letting is amazingly complex creation rot away? Take a look at this line from This is Amazing Grace: And leaves us breathless in awe and wonder We are all left in awe and wonder in many different ways. Sometimes we do see that in nature, sometimes we see that in technology, and sometimes we see it in art. These are all good things that God has blessed us with, but we often only see the negative things. We live in a sinful world full of negativity and it is important to be aware of that. This week’s video was on This Is Amazing Grace . That makes this devotion fairly easy. Let’s take a look at the chorus: This is amazing grace This is unfailing love That You would take my place That You would bear my cross You lay down Your life That I would be set free Oh, Jesus, I sing for All that You've done for me There are so many bible connections you can make throughout the chorus and the whole song. There was only one verse that I looked at twice in the video and that was John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. That really is the amazing grace isn’t it? It’s that simple. We do things that tear us away from God. We do those things while trying to draw closer to Him.
