Eternal Damnation

This week’s video was about Easy On Me, but what else can we pull from it?

If we look just at the chorus we see repentance and a plea for forgiveness.
Go easy on me, baby
I was still a child
Didn't get the chance to
Feel the world around me
I had no time to choose what I chose to do
So go easy on me

This is far from a Christian example but there are elements in here that I think we can connect with.
We have all sinned & know there are consequences for our actions. In particular – that our sins deserve eternal damnation.
Romans 3:23
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death

When you know punishment is deserved you do not ask for it to be completely removed but rather that it be lightened; that the other person would go easy on you.

In many cases on earth another human will not listen to this request, especially when given such a large number of excuses. But from The Heavenly Father no excuse is necessary because the price has been paid.
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Not only are we not punished but we are given gifts in this life and after it.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
