Time, do we really understand?
We worship the God who was
We worship the God who is
We worship the God who evermore will be
In the video I tied this into Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
The idea of being able to be in the world without time is impossible to understand. Time is essential to everything we do and understand. Sure, we can play with various ideas of time travel but going back and forth in time still means you are in a time.
How far do you have to look to find someone asking for more time? Maybe, more time on an assignment or more time to be with family. How often do we hear, “If I only had more time”?
God understands this struggle and is here to help.
Ephesians 5:15-17
Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best
use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but
understand what the will of the Lord is.
We are called to live for Him but we can’t find enough time for ourselves. Take comfort in knowing that He isn’t limited by time like we are. Not only is He always here for you but He is already with you and strengthening you with the same love that caused Him to die brutally to defeat death for you.
James 4:13-15
Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town
and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— yet you do not know what
tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little
time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will
live and do this or that.”
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.
