Loveshock - Joshua Perahia - Logical Lyric Analysis

Image
It recently came to my attention that Joshua Perahia is maybe not a group that should be featured in my other project, Christian Rocksong of the Day . That means it is time to dive into some of their songs and see if they need to be removed from the rotation. I want to start by looking specifically at the song LoveShock . Lyrics from Metal-Archives This song starts off with an intro Days gone, weeks are long, no way of knowing On my own, all alone, stone cold, feelin' old Where are you going? Cut off from you Brought about, by what I do This is already a little bit confusing. The first line seems to be talking about the passage of time, specifically not knowing how much time has passed. The second line goes into what has been happening in this unknown long feeling amount of time. So form these first two lines of the intro we see the singer struggling with loneliness. Line three seems to hold a minor issue, this mainly stems from the where are you going question. This f...

Think about what you read

Image
I want to help people realize that it is okay to think for themselves and to think things through a little differently. This means over exaggerating on some things to bring a different point of view to life. The same can be said for biblical thinking. I want to you to be able to read and make your own decisions. In this week’s video I listed a number of Biblical chunks without reading each one. Here is a chance for you to read some of those and reflect on them on your own. I don’t think you should have all the answers but that shouldn’t make you afraid to read the Bible and form your own thoughts, yes they will be effected some by your prior knowledge but you just might find yourself disagreeing with your previous thoughts. That gives you an opportunity to grow and either understand why you believe a certain thing or why maybe you need to take a step back and trust God and His word. Remember you can always go and read more then what is listed here. John 3:1-4:54 You Must Be Born ...

Don't Shy Away Be BOLD

Image
Let’s talk about being bold. Acts 28:31 proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness and without hindrance. There are two songs that come to mind on this topic, Bold by Ledger and Shy Away by Twenty One Pilots . Let’s look at each of their choruses. Bold I'm gonna be bold Gotta hold my head up Cause I know when I get up There's a victory I already hold I'm gonna be strong Gotta get my fight on Cause I know whose side I'm on Got a heart like steel, a faith like gold I'm gonna be bold Shy Away Don't you shy away Manifest a ceiling When you shy away Searchin' for that feelin' Just like an "I love you" That isn't words Like a song he wrote, T hat's never heard At first you probably didn’t think these songs were similar at all. They are presented in different ways but have a very similar message; A call to be Bold. One ...
